Blenkinsop's Cabin

I wish I had the time or motivation to keep up on my blog! :) It just seems to take so long each time I get on here. But, I love the end results! So, here are some pictures of our fun time at Bev and Joel Blenkinsop's cabin. This is my BFF's parent's cabin, in case aren't familiar! We were able to go up there a few times this summer and.....wow it is stunning! It's just southeast of Evanston and sits on about 35 acres, I think. The Bear River runs through their lot and we spent a very small amount of time fishing. But, Laura pulled out a little Brown Trout that we ate and it was yummy!

Freedom Day

This day is a very important day in our family. Before I was born, my Father was a P.O.W. in Vietnam. He was shot down an held captive for nine months in the Hanoi Hilton. He was released on this day thirty-six years ago after enduring many days, weeks and months worry about my Mom and sister, who was only an infant at the time.

I truly respect my Dad and all of the soldiers who make our country free and give us the chance to raise a family the way we are able to. Today I was able to take my son and my handsome husband to church to listen to my Dad speak about what he went through and how he was able to overcome such miserable circumstances. In fact, he remembers mostly about the funny things that happened and the things which made him closer to God. I am so humbled every single time I listen to him speak.

We have to fly in days like today, even though they are snowy and cloudy. With our own instincts. We don't always get to fly on beautiful sunny days using all the instruments that are given to us......O.K. Dad, don't get mad at my quote on this one! Spencer was running around the classroom. But, this was a good lesson. Thank you Dad!

It is so true. There will always be days that we are required to use our instincts but we must really listen closely, at other times, to something other than ourselves to get through.

On another note that has made a gigantic impact on our family and friends today.....Jesse. Please heal quickly!! We love ya and Spencer has been talking about you all day. We adore you too, Jen!! Hang in there! xoxoxoxo

Step aside...Couture, You Got Nothing on these 1983 Bibs

So, my Dad brought over these bibs circa, 1983! My Dad used to wear them. In our boredom of no power today we had to make due with other forms of entertainment. We are definitely able to keep ourselves entertained on a shoestring budget and no power! (He's going to kill me when he sees this on Facebook and our blog!) But, it is worth it!

On the catwalk, yeah, he struts his stuff on the catwalk!

Check out my stud!
